Oedipina tomasi

Oedipina tomasi
Range Honduras
IUCN Red Book Critically Endangered
CITES No listing
First described McCranie, 2006

This is a very rare salamander species known from only three specimens (this was the third seen)!! All of them have been seen in 2006 at the sole place where this species is to be found: Parque Nacional Cusuco, Honduras and as far as I know, this is the only photographed specimen. So... I was happy to see science in the making and to photograph a truly rare animal, whose fate is unknown and is probably critically endangered, unfortunately.
